    • 1911 Matte Proof Lincoln Cent PCGS 63 BN

Lincoln Cents are an all time classic for collectors, and the early proofs are the cream of the crop! These matte proof coins were minted in limited quantities and a fair amount seem to have been mishandled. Perhaps this is due to the fact the matte surfaces look similar to the regular mint state issues. This coin has the two defining characteristics of these elusive beauties, an absolutely needle sharp strike…every curl in Lincolns beard needs a trim… and thick, squared rims. A few small spots define the grade, however the coin has a very appealing look. The two “scratches” visible in the picture on the reverse are on the holder, not on the coin.

    • 1937 Lincoln Cent PCGS Proof 64 Red Cameo

Cameo coins from 1936 – 1942 are just plain scarce! Granted, these cameos are a thin market due to their limited availability, however, their beauty combined with their rarity makes items like this one seem a little overlooked in the general numismatic marketplace.

    • 1938 Lincoln Cent PCGS Proof 66 Red

A beautiful, high grade coin featuring a cameo obverse and problem free overall look.

    • 1938 Lincoln Cent – PCGS Proof 64 RD Cameo

A nice early Lincoln cent with deep mirrors and highly unusual contrasted devices. An extremely desirable coin at a very reasonable price.

    • 1942 Lincoln Cent – NGC Proof 63RD Cameo (Mint Error)

A most unusual coin on several levels. Lincolns before 1950 are very scarce with cameo contrast to begin with. Proof coins of any year are scarce as errors because of the care taken to produce them. An early cameo proof cent with a laminated planchet is about as bizarre as they come. Granted, this coin is not for everyone, however, I’m sure it is a very rare piece.

    • 1942 Lincoln Cent NGC Proof 64 Cameo

Beautiful red coin with symmetrical contrast, very pretty. This is the most available Lincoln (1936-1942) in cameo and it is still super scarce! An opportunity to put away a very interesting coin at a very reasonable price!

    • 1967 Lincoln Cent SMS PCGS Mint State 67 Cameo

A problem free, spot free example of this elusive non-proof cameo issue. For all SMS cents (1965-1967) the “67” grade seems to be the about as good as they come. This lovely coin fits right in with the finest out there!

    • 1884 Liberty Nickel NGC Proof 65

Nice early proof coin with reflective fields and some mild contrast. This coin has a very nice re-punched date (FS-013.8) to add to it’s overall desirability.

    • 1885 Liberty Nickel PCGS Proof 65 Cameo

This year in proof is very popular because of the rarity of mint state examples. This is a problem free example of the date which is also designated cameo by PCGS. Compare the proof price of this piece against the price of a gem mint state coin and this might be a great option.

    • 1940 Jefferson Nickel Rev. of 1938 (FS-901) PCGS Proof 65

A gem coin paring the obverse of a 1940 Jefferson with the wavy steps reverse of the 1938 coin. A great variety that should only become more popular as younger people begin collecting this series. Old timers already appreciate this neat variety.

    • 1951 Jefferson Nickel PCGS Proof 68 Cameo

Bright, shiny, deeply reflective fields. Nice contrast and no hairlines. A nice early cameo proof nickel. These early Jeff cams don’t seem to get much respect in the marketplace today, which makes me all the more aggressive in seeking them out considering their desirability in these lofty grades.

  • Dimes

    • 1941 Mercury Dime – PCGS Proof 65

Brilliant overall with some haze on both sides that defines the grade.

    • 1952 Roosevelt Dime – NGC Proof 68

Very few 1952 dimes grade higher and I’m sure even less have better eye appeal! Beautifully toned in gunmetal blue and gold on the upper obverse and deeply toned on the reverse in blue and gold. Mild cameo contrast is noted, however, the grading services are hesitant to list this as the deep toning is the prominent feature on this beauty.

    • 1967 Roosevelt Dime PCGS Specimen 67 DEEP CAMEO

Deep, symmetrical , two sided contrast rarely seen on SMS coins. DCAMS seem a little underrated these days. Don’t be afraid of the die polish spot at the base of Roosevelt’s neck, all deeply contrasted coins of this date seem to have this feature.

    • 1956 Franklin Half Dollar – Type 1 – PCGS Proof 68

Blazing blemish free surfaces glow like the day it was minted. These type 1 halves are favorites of variety collectors as they represent a very small part of the mintage of proof coins for the year. The exemplary grade only enhances this superb coin’s desirability.

Please use contact form to confirm this item is still available. Thank you. Mike.

    • 1957 Franklin Half Dollar PCGS Proof 67 Cameo

Nice creamy frosted devices with a little multi colored peripheral toning on the reverse. Clean and eye-appealing.

    • 1959 Franklin Half Dollar PCGS Proof 67 Cameo

A much better date for cameo franklins. High grade 1959 cams are one of the fastest disappearing coins in the series, and price advances for 67 and above pieces show no sign of slowing down. Perhaps now is a good time to acquire one. (or two).

    • 1960 Franklin Half – PCGS Proof 66 Cameo – DDO-FS 101 (FS-012)

A desirable enough variety on it’s own, a gem+ cameo is rather exciting! PCGS has graded only 7 cameos in all grades (12/30/17). A 64, three coins in 66 and three higher out of 1300+ regular cams. A small  haze spot on the “E” of united on the reverse is all that keeps this coin from a loftier grade. This may turn out to be an important coin.

    • 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar – Accented Hair – PCGS Proof 68 Cameo

From a tiny fraction of the mintage of proof halves this year, this superb coin was minted from dies that featured “accented” hair. I believe, at Jackie’s request, this accented hair was toned down almost immediately. This action resulted in a “modern rarity” that is very popular. Cameo pieces are few and far between, especially in such lofty grades as the coin offered here.

      NICE

    • 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar PCGS Proof 67 Cameo “Accented Hair”

The accented hair variety comprised (according to prominent researchers) perhaps the first 5% of the mintage. Rumor has it that Jackie Kennedy disliked the “wild hair” and requested the mint tone it down a bit. Her request was granted and the rest of the mintage has a different, toned down hair design. Of the miniscule mintage of accented hair pieces, cameos represent a small fraction of those.

    • 1965 Kennedy Half Dollar SMS PCGS 67 Cameo

The toughest of the three SMS dates to find in nice cameo condition. Pieces in premium grades are very hard to locate. This coin has nice mirrors highlighting frosty cameo devices. Problem free and very pretty.

    • 1970-S Kennedy Half Dollar – PCGS Proof 69 Deep Cameo

  • Dollars

    • 1881 Morgan Dollar PCGS Mint State 63 PL

This date is never offered in prooflike! I wish I could buy fifty of these. Even this lowly MS 63 is a very desirable coin. Mild contrast, nice mirrors and no problems for the grade, just a little “stuff” in the fields. I’m sure you will enjoy this coin as much as I have.

    • 1883-0 Morgan Dollar NGC Mint State 64 DPL

All there…clean, frosted devices, deep mirrors and high end for the technical grade. Most DMPL’s with this look are held in collections and rarely come to market. A fairly common date, and thus, very reasonable.

    • 1884-0 Morgan Dollar NGC Mint State 63 “Binion Collection”

    • 1887 Morgan Dollar PCGS Mint State 64

This common date Morgan dollar has the most uncommon toned appearance. Apparently a strip of non-reactive material diagonally rested through the center of this coin, allowing beautiful toning to develop on the two exposed parts with the center remaining brilliant. The mostly brilliant reverse has a slight crescent of toning at the bottom.

    • 1891-S Morgan Dollar – NGC MS 65

A gem coin with nice contrast and beautiful peripheral toning on the obverse. The reverse is brilliant. Strong semi-prooflike surfaces on both sides add to the attractiveness of this better date dollar.

    • 1897 Morgan Dollar PCGS Mint State 63 PL

The obverse of this coin has very nice prooflike surfaces. The reverse is a beautifully toned prooflike, with “end of the roll” geometrical designs. I consider myself very lucky to have found a coin so attractive.
